Our Method

EG PREP aims to address the lack of confidence among nurse practitioner students by providing specialized classes specifically designed to build confidence in practical skills. While there are already companies in the market focused on helping students pass the boards and providing didactic instruction, our unique approach focuses solely on the clinical decision-making process.

We believe that by focusing on this critical aspect, we can help nurse practitioner students gain the confidence they need to bridge the “NP-RN practice gap” * effectively.

Our teaching method revolves around several key elements.

PRIORITIZING COMMON CHIEF COMPLAINTS

We prioritize the common chief complaints that students are likely to encounter in real-world clinical settings. By focusing on these realistic scenarios, we ensure that students are well-prepared for the challenges they will face in their future practice.

EMPHASIZE CLINICAL DECISION MAKING

We emphasize the decision-making process required to determine whether a condition can be managed outpatient or if a referral is necessary. This skill is crucial in ensuring appropriate patient care and optimal outcomes.

TEACH DOCUMENTATION

We recognize the importance of proper documentation in conveying one’s thought process to other healthcare professionals who may encounter the patient later. Our classes provide guidance on effective documentation methods, enabling students to document their assessments, diagnoses, and treatment plans accurately. This not only helps in continuity of care but also demonstrates their clinical reasoning abilities to other members of the healthcare team.

At EG PREP, we are committed to equipping nurse practitioner students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to excel in their future practice. Our educational approach aims to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world clinical experiences, empowering students to become competent and confident nurse practitioners.
